The CWIC Scaffolding Academy, in collaboration with its industry partners, proudly offers the Scaffolding Apprenticeship Course—a comprehensive programme designed to develop the next generation of skilled scaffolders.
This course is ideal for individuals seeking to gain a nationally recognised academic qualification in scaffolding while building hands-on experience in real-world environments. Apprentices will benefit from expert instruction, practical training, and strong industry connections that support career progression in the construction sector.
Course Content
The course features hands-on practical training in key areas, including:
- Interpreting technical information – understanding drawings, specifications, and site instructions
- Resource estimation – accurately assessing the materials, tools, and time required for scaffolding tasks
- Planning and preparation – organising work efficiently to meet project requirements
- Constructing scaffolding structures – assembling and dismantling scaffolding systems in line with safety and industry standards

Academic
Entry Requirements
There are no formal qualifications required to enrol in this course. However, having GCSEs at grades A–C (or 9–4)* in English and Maths can be beneficial for your learning and progression.
To help us assess your suitability for the programme, you will be asked to:
- Complete a skills assessment exercise, and possibly attend the college to carry out additional testing.
